The Ohio Federation of BPW has long been interested in the development of their member's skills for leadership. The Individual Development Program has helped to provide both speaking and leadership skills for thousands of BPW members in the past years.

This program consists of two courses: the Speaking Skills course and the Leadership Skills course. Both are designed to give basics necessary for development of a series of separate, but coordinated skills, to aid a person in becoming an effective speaker and/or leader.

After completion of the course, the member has the opportunity to exercise those newly acquired skills in a Speakoff Competition. These competitions are held at the Local, Regional and State levels. Each succeeding level incorporates a broader level of candidates. The winner of the Individual Development Speakoff Competion is invited and encouraged to attend and be recognized at the BPW/USA National Conference.

Individual Development Speakoff Rules
