Sojourner Truth
An outspoken advocate on blacks' and women's rights. She gave her famous "Ain't I a Woman" speech at the Women's Rights Convention in Akron, Ohio on May 29, 1851.
Dedication and Celebration
On May 29, 2024 the Sojourner Truth Statue Project that spearheaded the effort will commemorate Truth's speech on its' 173rd anniversary.
After the dedication BPW/OH Akron local has invited us to join with ERAOhio around the corner at the BLU-TIQUE HOTEL - 1 South Main Street from: 7:45-9:45 pm
