The Ohio BPW Retirement Foundation cordially invites you to become a Friend of the Foundation.
Our organization was originally established to support the public spaces at two retirement homes supported by Ohio Business and Professional Women’s Clubs, Inc. One facility was in Toledo and the other was in Cincinnati. Many things have changed since 1966 and so have we. The two facilities have been sold but our purpose continues to be providing support to retirement housing non-profit facilities through grants and gifts. We expanded our programs to honor the nursing profession by offering a Nursing Scholarship and State Tested Nursing Assistant Scholarship.
What is a Friend of the Foundation? This is someone who gives financially to the Foundation on an annual basis in order to support the grants and scholarships that the Foundation provides. This allows the work of the Foundation to continue over the years and supports those Ohio residents who have entered their “Golden Years” and the nursing providers. Who Can donate? Any individual can become a Friend of the Foundation. Locals and Regions can also be Friends of the Foundation. How much does it cost? The annual monetary contribution to become a Friend is $25.00.

Donations to Non-Profit / Low Income Subsidized Senior Housing Facilities
Ohio Business & Professional Women’s Retirement Foundation will continue to award up to three $500 grants across the state to support a non-profit, low income / subsidized senior housing facility. This grant is for a facility that provides documentation that the entity is operating under a 501c3 and they are a government facility and/or non-profit low income/subsidized housing for seniors, this is not necessarily a nursing home. Information will be sent to each local and region president. Each local may submit a request; up to three locals will be chosen to receive the grant. Application for a grant is accepted anytime until the deadline, April 15, 2025. $500.00 Nursing Scholarship
The Ohio Business & Professional Women’s Retirement Foundation will grant a $500.00 scholarship to a woman pursuing a nursing degree in any accredited school, or nursing program. A scholarship recipient will be selected by a committee after the April 15, 2025 deadline to submit applications. The recipient and all other applicants will be notified with a letter. The Nursing Scholarship Grant winner will be announced at the BPW OHIO annual conference. The purpose of our scholarship is to provide financial support to those interested in a career in nursing. Our policies governing the awarding of scholarships apply equally for all women. All information provided is kept confidential within the bounds of the review process. Applications must be completed in their entirety and accompany all required paperwork.
$500 Scholarship for STNA
We are wanting to encourage those interested in a healthcare career as a State Tested Nursing Assistant to pursue their goals by making available funds in this field. The Ohio Business & Professional Women’s Retirement Foundation believes in helping women. Through this scholarship, the foundation feels that this is a way of keeping the tradition of “women helping women”.
